In Their Own Words

"We did the skyline cruise for my partner's birthday — eight of us, and the deck was comfortable for all of us. The city looks completely different from the water. The drinks and bites were well done, nothing rushed. We were back in under two and a half hours but it felt like a proper evening out."

"The diving charter was exactly what I was hoping for — two solid dives at Pulau Hantu with a calm, knowledgeable instructor who did not make me feel like I was on a tour. My wife snorkelled while I was underwater. Lunch was better than I expected. The boat was clean and the dive platform made getting in and out easy."

"We took four of us on the expedition. The cabins were a reasonable size — not hotel rooms, but that is not the point. Rajan knows the water well; I felt confident throughout the passage. The cook sourced fish from a small market on the second day and made something with it that evening that I am still thinking about. The only thing I would flag is that the morning departure on day one was slightly delayed."

"We organised the skyline cruise as a small corporate event for a team of ten. Serena was helpful from the first message — she answered every question without making me feel I was bothering her. The evening itself ran well. The team got to spend two hours together away from a screen, which was the whole idea."

"I have done the diving charter twice now. Ahmad knows the Pulau Hantu sites well — the second time he took us to a slightly different entry point based on the tide, and the visibility was noticeably better. I appreciate that the decisions are based on conditions rather than habit. Will be back."

"The four-day expedition is not a holiday in the usual sense — it is more like choosing to be at sea for a few days with people who know what they are doing. We caught fish on day three and had it cooked that evening. The anchorage on the last night was genuinely quiet — no other boats, just water. Worth doing if that kind of thing appeals to you."

Longer Stories

Challenge

Anniversary with a view

A guest wanted an anniversary evening for two — something that felt genuinely different from a restaurant, but not so long or complex that it required extensive planning.

Solution

We arranged the City Skyline Cruise as a private charter for just the two of them, departing at dusk. The welcome drinks were arranged with their preferred choices noted in advance. The route was timed to reach the best viewing position as the city lights came on.

Outcome

Two-hour private charter. Both guests described it as the most memorable part of their week in Singapore. They have since referred the charter to three other couples.

"It was simple and exactly right." — Ayumi & David K., February 2025

Challenge

First ocean passage

A group of five friends wanted to do something involving real open water — not a day trip around the harbour, but a passage that took them away from Singapore for several days. None had done multi-day sailing before.

Solution

The South China Sea Expedition. Before booking, we had a detailed conversation with the group about what to expect — conditions, sleeping arrangements, and realistic timelines. Rajan shaped the itinerary around their interest in fishing more than diving.

Outcome

Four days completed without incident. The group caught yellowfin on day two and had it prepared that evening. One member has since enrolled in a maritime skills course and intends to book again.

"We came back changed. That sounds dramatic, but it is true." — Group charter, January 2025

Challenge

Mixed-ability diving group

A booking for eight guests — four certified divers and four non-divers. The non-divers were uncomfortable sitting on a vessel for eight hours without activity, but the divers were the reason for the trip.

Solution

The Diving Day Charter was arranged with snorkelling equipment provided for the non-divers, who joined a guided snorkel at the shallower section of the reef while the divers went deeper. The surface interval was extended slightly to allow everyone to enjoy lunch together on deck.

Outcome

All eight guests were engaged throughout the day. Two of the non-divers have since enquired about the PADI Open Water course, prompted by what they saw while snorkelling.

"I expected to be bored by the end. I was not." — Priyanka S., February 2025
